Design and Technology 设计与科技

The Design and Technology Department aims to:

• Develop Marists to appreciate design function, aesthetics and technology through their projects;

• Cultivate Marists' visual-spatial thinking and hands-on skills through sketching, experimenting and prototyping using various materials, basic hand tools and workshop machines.

• Develop Marists' confidence and pride through turning ideas into physical prototypes; and

• Help Marists to develop resilience and problem-solving skills.

To achieve the Department’s goals, the following programmes are offered:

MSHS 2-year Design and Technology which comprises of the following:

• Sketching and rendering using both physical and digital tools.

• Acrylic key tag with random trigger design.

• Jelutong wood shape borrowing pencil holder.

• Wood and acrylic desk organizer with shape-borrowing.

设计与科技部致力于：

• 通过项目实践，引导学生如何通过各种渠道，理解物品设计和美学的过程；

• 通过素描、模型模拟与原型制作，教导学生使用多种材料及基本手工工具、设备与机械，从而培养他们的 视觉空间思维 ；

• 通过创意转化为实物的方式，提高学生的自信心与成就感；

• 通过课程的种种活动，培养学生的创意、毅力与应变能力。

为实现这些目标，设计与科技部提供了以下课程与项目：

• 使用电子程序和传统铅笔进行绘画及设计

•  亚克力钥匙扣的设计和制作

• 木制铅笔架的设计和制作

• 木制和亚克力桌面收纳架的设计与制作
