Talent Development Programmes (TDP)

Our Mathematics Society is designed to cater to learners with an interest, aptitude and readiness in learning mathematical concepts beyond the syllabus. Primary 4 and Primary 5 students who are assessed to be suitable will be invited to take part in the programme.

Marists will be engaged in activities which are highly investigative in nature. Through collaborative learning and teacher guidance, Marists will participate in advanced mathematical problem-solving and research projects.  

The yearly programme aims to:

• Promote curiosity and interest in advanced mathematical concepts.

• Develop mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills.

• Build confidence in presenting mathematical projects and ideas. 

• Develop emerging 21st century competencies, including critical, adaptive and inventive thinking, as well as communication and collaboration skills.

Science Club is designed to cater to learners with an interest, aptitude and a higher level of readiness in scientific investigations and inquiry-based learning. Primary 4 to Primary 6 students who are assessed to be suitable will be invited to take part in the programme.

Through an inquiry approach, Marists will engage in experiments and activities to study scientific phenomena and their possible causes. Through participation in national competitions such as the e-THINK© Challenge and Singapore Science Buskers, Marists will strengthen their scientific inquiry and research competencies, as well as their communication and collaborative skills.  

The yearly programme aims to: 

• Develop the habits, attitudes and dispositions of scientists.

• Develop emerging 21st century competencies, including critical, adaptive and inventive thinking as well as collaboration, communication and information skills.

Bicultural Club is designed to develop Primary 4 to Primary 6 students who demonstrate an interest and aptitude in communicating effectively in both English and Chinese Languages. 

The yearly programme aims to nurture confident and effective bilingual communicators who can navigate different linguistic and cultural contexts. Through a range of authentic and engaging learning experiences, Marists will strengthen their bilingual communication skills while developing a deeper understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture. 

Activities include:

• Bilingual Excellence, Cross-Cultural Communication & Code-Switching: Marists will develop proficiency and confidence in using both English and Chinese Languages through activities such as journalism and broadcasting, debate and public speaking, as well as bilingual storytelling and story writing. 

• Experiential Learning: Marists will participate in hands-on workshops, talks and interactions with people from diverse backgrounds, providing authentic opportunities to deepen their understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture.

Eco-STEM Club is designed to nurture future-ready learners who are passionate about environmental issues and eager to contribute meaningfully to sustainability efforts. Primary 3 to Primary 6 Marists who demonstrate a strong interest and aptitude in Environmental Science will be invited to take part in the programme.

Through inquiry-based learning experiences and research projects, Marists will contribute to school-wide environmental efforts that require strategic thinking, thoughtful coordination and community engagement. 

The yearly programme aims to: 

• Nurture advocates for environmental and sustainability issues. 

• Develop discerning and effective communicators. 

• Strengthen emerging 21st century competencies, including civic literacy and communication and collaboration skills.
