The Aesthetics (Music) Department aims to:
Develop Marists’ ability to actively listen, experience, explore and make connections with music from a range of cultures and genres.
Foster creativity in Marists through music improvisation and composition.
Develop Marists’ understanding and appreciation of music through experiential learning opportunities in singing and instrumental performance.
To achieve the Department’s goals, the following programmes are offered:
P1 – Engaging with Songs, Local Folk Songs, Australian Music, Xylophone and Soundscape
P2 – Engaging with Songs, Local Folk Songs, Famous Composers, Xylophone and Soundscape, Cornet Music Programme
P3 – Ukulele, Engaging with Songs, South-East Asian Music and Western Orchestra Module
P4 – Ukulele, Engaging with Songs, Indonesian Music, Dikir Barat Module
P5 – Engaging with Songs, Asian Music, African Music and Beatboxing
P6 – GarageBand, Drumming and Pop Music
