The Science Department aims to:

Develop scientifically literate Marists who use scientific knowledge and sound reasoning to make informed decisions and take responsible action.
Nurture curiosity, critical thinking, investigative skills and problem-solving through inquiry-based learning and scientific experimentation.
Build strong foundations, values and dispositions for innovation, future STEM learning and responsible service to the community.

To achieve the Department’s goals, the following programmes and activities are offered:

Curriculum

P3 - P6 customised Science Curriculum aligned with the Primary Science Syllabus (2023), balancing inquiry, curiosity and innovation with strong academic foundations.
STEM Challenge for P3 - P6, where Marists apply their learning to authentic challenges and develop dispositions for future STEM learning.
Young Scientist Badge Scheme (YSBS), which enables Marists to explore branches of Science beyond the textbook through applied tasks.

Applied Learning Programme (ALP)

MAPLES (Marists as Advocates, Practitioners and Leaders in Eco-stewardship and Sustainability), a school-wide P1 - P6 interdisciplinary programme that develops 21st Century Competencies through eco-stewardship, sustainability and STREAM learning.

Enrichment and Talent Development

Science Club, with opportunities to explore the E2K Science curriculum and receive mentoring for Science competitions.
Eco-STEM Club, which deepens understanding of sustainability in the Singapore context while developing Science knowledge, skills and environmental stewardship.
Science Week, which provides opportunities for Marists to showcase Science projects, advocate for causes and inspire the school community.
