Mathematics
The Mathematics Department aims to:
Develop Marists’ mathematical processes, including reasoning, communication, application and problem solving, to support the development of 21st Century Competencies.
Foster creative and critical thinking through the application of mathematical skills and concepts in authentic contexts.
Develop productive habits of mind through investigative and collaborative problem-solving tasks.
To achieve the Department’s goals, the following programmes are offered:
6-year Mathematics Curriculum – alignment of pedagogical and assessment practices with the Revised Mathematics Syllabus 2021 across all levels
Collaborative Learning and Open-Ended Tasks
P1 – P4 Learning Support for Mathematics (LSM)
P4 – P5 Math Society
P4 – P6 Math Olympiad Training
Marists are given opportunities to participate in the following competitions:
Asia-Pacific Mathematical Olympiad for Primary Schools (APMOPS)
Raffles Mathematical Olympiad (RMO)
National Mathematical Olympiad of Singapore (NMOS)
