The school held its annual commemoration of National Day on 7 August 2013, Wednesday. This year was the first time we celebrated Hari Raya Puasa in conjunction with National Day celebrations. We started off the National Day commemoration with the Cadet Scouts marching into the school hall bearing the State Flag and School Flag. After the National Day segment, a presentation of what and how Ramadan is being practised and an entertaining skit by the Singapore Agents and a few teachers showcased a day in a life of a Muslim family during the fasting month. We ended the celebrations with a slide show of how our Muslim teachers celebrate Hari Raya Puasa.
A total of 973 participants from Sec 1 to 4 participated in the ICAS Mathematics 2014. We are pleased to announce that for this year, we have 25 Marists attaining Certificates of High Disctinction.
2 of our senior Marists did our school proud by clinching the medal for the Secondary 3 and Secondary 4 levels. The medal is awarded to the top student in Singapore for each level.
For the SMO Competition 2014, 299 participants took part in the Junior, Senior and Open sections. We are pleased to announce that 20 Marists attained Honourable Mention, 13 Marists attained Bronze, 4 Marists attained Silver and 1 Marist attained Gold.
This year, the Singapore Mathematical Society (SMS) changed it's SMO school ranking system to a criteria-based system. In the new system, schools were awarded points for the number of participants that registered and attampted the paper, as well as the number of Gold, Silver, Bronze awards and Honourable Mentions obtain...
Our students have participated in the Singapore Junior Chemistry Olympiad (SJChO) 2014 organised by the Singapore National Institute of Chemistry, in partnership with NUS High School of Math and Science. More than 2000 students from over 50 schools took part in the competition.
The SJChO exposes students to content knowledge and higher order thinking skills beyond the O-level syllabus. It marks the beginning of their journey in the pursuit of scientific knowledge at a higher level and sets them thinking about their aspirations.

The Lee Kuan Yew All-Round Excellence Award (LKY-ARE) is a pinnacle award, standing at the apex of all existing national-level awards for achievement in education. It recognizes well-rounded students who have excelled in both academic and non-academic spheres, and who exemplify positive character development, strong leadership qualities and commitment to service to the community.
We are pleased to announce that Soong Tze Kiat (Class of 2013) is the first Marist to have been awarded the LKY-ARE. A former Marist of the Year, Tse Kiat was the Chairman of the SJAB, leading his peers and juniors to achieve stellar results and maintain high standards. Tse Kiat continues to mentor SJAB leaders and pass on the traditions of excellence. Tse Kiat is currently studying in Hwa Chong Institute (after completing his O-Levels in MSHS). Congratulations...
During the months of March and April 2014, the B division Basketball students took part in the 2nd Tier North Zone Basketball competition which is an annual competition organized by Presbyterian High School. Matches are played against schools in the North zone in a round robin challenge which can consists up to 10 matches. Through hard work and determination, our boys have emerged as Champions!!
